Policy signals from the Centre in recent months have reinforced infrastructure spending as a key instrument for improving productivity, attracting investment and strengthening metropolitan competitiveness.

Mumbai remains one of the country’s most infrastructure-intensive urban regions, with civic agencies and regional planning authorities simultaneously executing transport, drainage, housing and redevelopment projects across the metropolitan area.
